Is he stalking my sister?
My sister is 17. I’m 15. We both think that someone is stalking her! Well here’s our proof. One day my entire family ( my sister, my parents an myself) were at home relaxing. This was about two days ago. My parents went out for lunch and told us to stay here. About five minutes after they left we heard a knock at the door. My sister opened the door and it was the guy ho lived on our street. He’s about 50 and every mornig (when my parents leve and before my sister drives me o school) he always I walking outside our house. No, he’s pacing outside our house. He lives five houses down btw. Anyways, my sis answered the door and he was there. She asked him how he was doing and he said fine. Then he told her," theres some nasty termites going around so would you mind if I checked your house for termites?" she looked at me and my extpression said no. She looke back at him and said," umm maybe later." then he smiled, kissed her forehead and walked off. My sis was frozen as she close the door. We went back to my kitchen and started xbaking cookies. Then we stole a glance to our backyard. He was there. Trying to unlock our sliding door with a pocket knife. My sister screamed and we banged on the glass. He ran away. We called the cops an the investigated him. Apparently he"didn’t do it". The next day hich was yesterday, he banged on our door in the morning after my parents left. We didn’t answer. My sis looked thru the peep hole and he kept banging. Harder and harder. We freaked out and we didn’t go to school that day. He was literaly out there for and hour and a half. Sometimes he stopped banging and hen he di my sister looked thru the peep hole and he was still standing there. Once he left, we went into my sisters room and he wasthere trying to break thru her window. It was the scariest moments of my life. We need help! I almost forgot at night we always here clicking at our windows. The same noise when he tried to break in. What do we do?!?!?!??!?!?? I love whoever helps with this problem. Please help!

I think he just wants to give you guys a friendly hug.
Go to the police. You could get a security camera or something and record him doing this. Then show this to the police. But make sure he doesn’t know about the camera(s) or obviously he won’t do it. You need to tell your parents as well.

OR you could tell the dude that you got a security camera and that you are going to turn it into the police, even if you aren’t. Then, he’ll probably stop.

Once again, you NEED to tell your parents.

HAS ANY ONE USED IPHONE RECORDER PICKED UP STRANGE VOICES/noises?
I always use my iPhone to play white noise to sleep when I travel. It’s just too quite in hotel rooms to sleep. Three weeks ago I was in an older hotel in New York and of course. I had my phone with me. As usual I had left myself some voice notes for next days work on an extended voice recording app I had purchaed and then switched to the alarm / white noise player and fell asleep. Just this morning I noticed that my recorder registers a long amount of record time. I had not used the notes on the trip so I forgot about them.
But when I began playing those notes I had made three weeks earlier there are all kinds of strange noises left behind. I can hear myself moving in the bed or pulling on covers and a few times cleared my throat. But these are different. Strange noises sounds like from in the room or bathroom. There are about 28 mins all together. And they seem to stop when you can hear someone walking in the hallway and the sound of my paper bring shoved under the door.
I’m lost as to what they could be. Is it possible that the app I putchased started by itself and caught these sounds? I just tried to leave it on and switch to my alarm as I had that night and it shuts off every time. Lastly, the first began no more than 30 mins after the white noise maker shut down on it’s preset timer.
So is my iPhone or this recording app messed up? It was only 9.99 for the extended app so I can always erase and redownload or get a new one.
Has anyone else’s recorder started by itself or has your iPhone recorded strange noises?
This isn’t a joke so please only real answers no
ghost crackpots.

Every phone I have ever had and seen has exhibited strange behaviour in normal circumstances. I’m not surprised it is acting up.
Over the course of the following year, the four teens find their friendships all horribly strained and all but terminated completely from the trauma. Come the next Fourth of July, just before the town’s annual carnival, the four teens all find themselves being victimized by a mysterious menace when they begin to receive intimidating calling cards indicating someone is aware of what happened before. The group suspect the cousin of the dead friend, only to discover they are very much on the wrong track. Can the friends survive and figure out the identity of their tormentor before they end up dead themselves?

Do you think it's true that you'll always love your first love?
I fell in love last year. I honestly thought we were going to be together forever and get married and have kids together, we actually talked about this. (which is weird, because we were both thirteen.) Everything was fine until summer, we just started fighting and never saw each other so we took a break. I didn’t hear from him till the end of summer, when we both didn’t feel the spark anymore. I mean we still loved each other, but like the passion wasn’t there, ya know? So regardless of that, we went back out. It lasted for about 3 days. We decided to just be friends after that, but honestly that didn’t work out. We got in bitter fights with each other and said some pretty harsh stuff to each other some weeks, and then other weeks we talked about going back out and how much we still loved each other. It really wasn’t healthy for me, I was like his back up girl, the girl he knew he could get but he didn’t really want, and I was so naive that I would always go back to him. I finally grew up and said no. And lately he has been trying to get back with me, and it takes everything in me to say no. But after everything, I still love him. Not like I used too, but I’m not 100% over him. and let me tell you that we have been broken up since August. I have someone new in my life, who I like very much. But why do I think more about my ex then I do about the new guy? Why do I still find myself tearing up at love songs? Why must I always try a way to talk to him? I just don’t know. But honestly I’m asking, will I always have something for him and I just have to learn and deal with it? Or will I forget about him some day?

I think that it takes very special circumstances to make us loose the feelings for our first loves. Most of the time it seems to be better to avoid any contact. With time, we think less and less about them, but as far as I know it hardly ever goes away completely.

My heart was broken and I couldnt think. Now I don't know what to do!?
June 17, 2009 My Boxer (who was my service dog also) died. I have pretty much been crying all the time since then… though not contstantly. She helped me get up, pick things up and stablize me once I was up. She was my constant companion going with me EVERYWHERE for 4 1/2 yrs. I got her JUST before her first birthday and she died 6 months after her 5th birthday.

So grief stricken I had to take my 17yr old daughter up to the SPCA because we promised her if she raised her grades we would go and see if the SPCA had any ferrets and if they did we could get one. Well, they had no ferrets but they had this little Lab mix puppy that I fell in LOVE with.I was convinced she’d make a good service dog in a couple of years when she grew out of the puppy phase. I thought also, that she’d be a LOT bigger than she seems to be going. She’s 35lbs right now and I need a dog no less than 50lbs to help balance me while I’m standing.
She is an absolutely fabulous dog henestly. Shes super smart and got all the basic obedience commands right off… well not ALL! She doesn’t COME when I call her half the time. Also when she DOES her commands she does them as fast as she can then wants a treat. THe real thing is tha shes JUST NOT gonna work out as a service dog for mwe and I SHOULD have waited till when I was in a more stable frame of mind to even LOOK at those puppies!

I need to figure out what to do with my dog to get her rehomed. I have fears of taking her back to the SPCA as crazy as she is and as old as she is becase she may not be able to find a home and I don’t want her to be put to sleep! She’s only 7.5 months old. She’s not mean at all! She loves cats, dogs and kids. She hasnt got an aggressive bone in her. But is she adoptable cause she’s rowdy? Thats mainly what I need to know or if there is another way to find her a GOOD home quickly? Will SPCA like "blacklist" me if I bring her back? Like will they say I can NEVER adopt another animal from them EVER? UGH I HATE THIS!!! I SHOULD have LISTENED to my husband!!
ETA: She died of Cardiomyopathy. She had an enlarged left atrium, sub-aortic stenosis and a grade 4 out of a possible 4 murmur. The last month of her life was trying to recover from pulmonary edema. We had breathing treatment after breathing treatment day n night for that whole month n I losts her anywa from congestive heart failure (
Although I DID say I ADOPTED the dog while GRIEF STRICKEN, Im really no monster who goes around getting dogs willy nilly ( Also, where do y’all think I got my last service dog? I think I DID say she was a service dog right? I also know it took three YEARS for my former service dogs training to be complete. Then she died and it WASNT expected. I’d NEVER SELL the dog I adopted and I HONESTLY doubt I’d take her back to the SPCA either. I know I SAID I want to rehome her but taking her back to the SPCA is my LAST resort. I am training her and she IS seeing a trainer as well. Its her temperment and smaller (than my previous service dogs) size is the issue but, I’m honestly mainly worried about her disposition. She is very nervous and I cant have her pee on a stores floor because some kid runs up to her. Which happens a LOT when you have a dog with you. I’m sorry I didnt explain myself better. I’m sure theres more I’ve failed to mention still.
One more thing lol. If you didn’t know, once you’ve had a service dog for a while you know what your dog needs to learn. A LOT of people who get their first dog thru an org the FIRST time choose to train their own dogs the next time (more than likely with the help of a trainer who understands the needs of that person). Its no different than what the service dog orgs do. Getting a dog thru an org takes a LOT of time and I do need a dog sometime soon. If you research this subject you will find a lot of orgs that help people train their own dogs for service. Since I had a service dog trained by an org before I KNOW what my dog needs to do for me and I’m pretty confident in my abilities (with some help) to do so. This isnt my 1st dog, I’ve trained at least 5 dogs in my life with normal obedience. IF I decide shes not going to work out as my service dog I CANNOT keep her. I have two dogs already (both old) & my city allows 3. My other dogs are too small to be service dogs so you know

I would just keep her…and go though a service dog program to find another service dog that has already been certified
Has she had any professional training?….at 7mo old she is still a baby (especially labs)

I have a home with multiple dogs so its easy for me to just say the more the merrier LOL
APBTLady | Feb 08, 2010

Well most likely since she’s as young as she is then she will defiently get bigger. But why do you have to get rid of her if she can’t be your sevice dog? I mean you love her don’t you? I would keep her as a pet if I where you and then get you a service dog. That way you still get to keep her without having to worry about if she’s going to the right home and you get your dog to help you with your every day needs, other then getting out of bed she might be able to help out. Have you tried taking her to the vet and seeing how big he thinks she will be? some dogs don’t stop growing until they are 3yrs old.
Proud Wife & Mommy | Feb 08, 2010

It sounds like your dog would be pretty easy to rehome. I’ve done shelter and resuce work for the last 4 years, and 7.5 months is not old at all. The biggest issues people look for are dogs that are house trained, and don’t nip when playing. (But I’ve adopted out lots of dogs that still need this training too!)

Also, if your dog is 35 pounds, and 7.5 months old, she will likely grow to at least 50 pounds. She won’t be full grown until at least 14 months. It’s very common for puppies to be "rowdy" at this age, and you shouldn’t expect her to be fully trained until she’s at least a year, or older.

If you consider keeping her, it sounds like you could benefit from the help of a personal dog trainer. A trainer can quickly show you effective ways to train your dog, though you still need to be patient for her to get things 100% of the time. I would encourage anyonetrying to acheive specialized training in their dog to consult a professional dog trainer. It will be well worth the expense!

If you decide to get rid of the dog, you can call the SPCA anonymously and ask for their eutenasia policy. If you aren’t comfortable with it, you could search for a no-kill rescue organization, or ask your vet for help finding her a new home. If you do return the dog to the SPCA, there is a good chance you would not be allowed to adopt an animal there again. Keep in mind, you’ve already said you shouldn’t have adopted this one, and they are trying to look out for the best interest of the animal. It is traumatic for animals to be shifted from home to home, or from shelter, to home, to shelter to home. They want to prevent this as much as possible.

If you decide to get another dog in the future, please explore your options from service dog organizations. There are several organizations that may be able to place a fully trained service dog with you. Check out the following national links for additional information. You may also be able to find regional organizations.

Sorry you feel she will not work out. 7.5 months old seems a little young to be fully trained as that rowdy puppy stage seems to last somewhat longer. I know what you mean by not wanting to return her to the animal shelter, we do grow fond of them. You may want to give her a little more time or get some professional training. If that isn’t possible there has to be many people that would adopt her. If I was anywhere near your location (upper midwest here) I would consider it. Anyway, good luck making your decision.
Bruce | Feb 08, 2010

I’m glad that you care about your dog. However, you weren’t right to buy the dog on a whim as you know. Keep training the dog – when she’s fully trained, get another fully trained one and use that as your main service dog. If you can sell her, great – just make sure she’s going to a good home. It is hard to sell fully grown dogs but a well trained one may go easier. Speak to the SPCA and explain your problem CALMLY and in a professional manner. They’re more likely to listen and trust you if your dog is well trained but just too small. It’s great that you don’t want your dog to be put down and they probably wouldn’t – they have no reason if it’s a well trained, healthy dog. Hope this helps!
If you are in need of an actual Service Dog, there are specific places you can go and get one that is already trained, certified and they have already been through all of the steps. I suggest you contact them.
http://canineworkingcompanions.org/cwc_g raphical/FAQ%20Service%20Dogs.htm

The Lab probably will make a very good service dog in a couple of years, but it seems you are not willing to wait that long. You are expecting too much out of the dog way too soon. After all, she is only 7.5 months old.

What a shame about the Lab. No – the shelter will not "blacklist" you. If you really can not keep her, then find a no-kill shelter so they can find an appropriate home. She is still plenty young and will not have a problem finding a new home.
When he lays the flute down it becomes alive. (Turns to solid gold with diamond studs). Plotting to steal is a witch named Witchiepoo. Jimmy hops aboard a beautiful magic talking board that wants to take him out to sea. But the boat actually belongs to the Witch… who turns the boat back into a black evil craft meant to trap Jimmy and bring him to her. But Jimmy escapes from the boat and makes a swim for land. A Dragon named Pufnstuf was watching the whole event between Jimmy and the witch. Pufnstuf and the cops (two ants named Cling & clang) go to aid Jimmy. Jimmy ends up on the shores of Living island (where every thing is alive) & is rescued by Pufnstuf & Co. The rest of the movie has the witch trying to get the magic flute in order to impress Boss Witch and her Friend Witch Hazel (Mama Cass Elliot), while Pufnstuf and Friends are attempting to find ways to get Jimmy off of the island.

Why is the Premier of Newfoundland (Canada) getting his heart surgery in the U.S.A.?
N.L. premier’s heart surgery sparks debate
Danny Williams heading to U.S. for procedure on advice of his doctors
http://www.vancouversun.com/health/premi er+heart+surgery+sparks+debate/2516321/s tory.html

Does this highlight the weaknesses of Canada’s health network?
Billy, was an unwarranted personal attack necessary as part of your answer? What an unusual method of persuasion. For you, this should have been an opportunity to provide an affirmative defense of Canadian health care.

Since health care is a provincial responsibility here in Canada, maybe there was no surgeon or operating room available in Newfoundland in what his doctors considered a suitable time frame. When that happens they often look other places to see if the surgery can be done sooner, that includes other Canadian provinces and other countries. If his doctors feel he can not wait for the surgery to be done in Newfoundland then they would advise him to go elsewhere. In this case they sent him to the US, which probably means that his doctors had already found a surgeon and facility in the US that could take him right away.

I find it amusing that every time there is a story about a Canadian going to the US for some type of treatment I read about how opponents of health care reform in the US use it to show that Canada’s national health care system is broken. The problem with that theory is that we do not have a national health care program in Canada, health care is taken care of by the provinces with some assistance in paying for it by the transfer of federal tax dollars. My health card only works in my home province, if I travel to another province I need the same type of travelers health insurance I need if I visit another country.

The biggest problems our health care system faces is the damage done the massive cuts to these transfers by the federal Liberal government in the mid 1990’s. Every province has been scrambling ever since to make up for those funding cuts, which has resulted in the problems that health services every province face today.

 D D | Feb 03, 2010

 No, it doesn’t.

You are like the people who think that heavy snowfall in their backyards means there’s no global warming. A single data point doesn’t change the overall picture. Canadians have better access to health care than Americans do. If you are a normal working person, the Canadian system is better.

That wasn’t a personal attack, it was an analogy. I have discovered that trying to offer actual evidence to people who make blanket accusations based on nothing is usually a waste of time. If I offered you the WHO ratings, you would say that they’re biased. What’s the point?
Billy Blaze | Feb 03, 2010

He didn’t want to wait six months.

<<We are constantly being told what a great health care system other countries like Canada, France and Britain have. But guess what? Some Canadians are crossing the border to Michigan to get health care.

And we’re talking about more than just coming over for an appointment, quick lab test or a second opinion. According to an article in the Detroit Free Press, Canadian health agencies are creating formal partnerships with hospitals in Michigan to provide services not quickly available at home through their national health care system.

For example, the Ontario Ministry of Health has agreements with some Detroit hospitals for imaging tests, bariatric, heart and other services that have long waiting lists in Ontario. Rather than paying out of pocket for crossing the border, the bill is paid by the plan, sort of like staying with an in network doctor if you have private insurance in the U.S.

Michael Vujovich of Windsor came to Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit where he had an angioplasty done. The bill was $38,000. It was paid in full by the Ministry of Health in Ontario.

Canada sees this approach as better than shelling out money to build additional facilities in Canada to meet the demand for care. Critics of national health care systems like Canada’s are quick to point out that the system is not working if they have to send their patients to the U.S.>>
No, I do not think it highlights the weaknesses of Canada’s health network.

And when he loses his job, he returns to the only place he’s happy at – his old high school. And while looking at his high school photo, a janitor asks him if he wishes he could be 17 again and he says yes. One night while driving he sees the janitor on a bridge and apparently jumps in and he goes after him.
An ethical question about holes in trousers?
Hi,my dad and I tend to often argue, here is our latest problem: this morning,he saw that I was wearing a pair of trousers with 2 (just 2) holes in them.I go to a non uniform school so we wear pretty much what we like. My dad along with throwing a huge hissy fit, said that by wearing trousers with holes in them,I look unkept and un looked after and that its a question of personal dignity and how society would perceive me.And I maintain that at 17,I should be able to wear what I want (with the exception of formal dressing for interviews, etc) and that society (specially kids in a school where everyone wears what they want) would not judge me by these holes. So who is right here? give your honest opinion
ps: My dad has now told me (which is a nice way of saying ‘I’m forbidding you’) that he does not want to see my wearing these trousers again.
thanks a lot for your answers!

 He just jealous…
carmellove2678 | Feb 08, 2010

 depends entirely on the pants.

Jeans, shredded, faded actually cost MORE ( I couldn’t believe it, I saw a pair that looked exactly like the ones i threw out, $150 price tag on them.) then brand new looking blue jeans.

Dockers with holes. . .just looks bad.
Mr.TwoCrows | Feb 08, 2010

Well your dad is worried about what people will think of HIM if you wear trousers with holes. If people see you wearing trousers with holes, maybe they will think "hmm, your dad isn’t taking good care of you." And your dad doesn’t want people to think badly of him.

And you might believe that society won’t judge you for it, but actually there really are people out there who automatically think that holes in trousers are bad. Some people will judge you, but probably nobody will say anything to you. You can ignore those people if you choose. But your dad seems to have a problem with being judged.

But there’s nothing *inherently* wrong with you choosing to wear trousers with holes in them. Your dad just thinks that it’s important to give the world the best impression of you, and to him that means not wearing trousers with holes. But it’s probably better to give the world a realistic impression of you, and if wearing trousers with holes means that you are being true to yourself, then it’s ok.
